Pita breads
Roast capsicum, leek, and walnut dip
Yoghurt and cracked wheat dip with cucumber and radish

Welcome back, Damascus. After a very disappointing performance on platters night (see below), we were nervous to. be back. We wanted them to succeed, reaching the same lofty heights as the lunch when we first fell in love with them. And reach they did.
A true joy of this meal was the way everything went with everything else. Any two items could be smushed together and taste delicious. We ate the two dips with everything else (except the dessert). We’ve previously used the term ‘symphony of flavours’ for Damascus’ food, and this continues to be apt. The two dips in particular were outstanding, they were nothing like we were expecting (in fact, we didn’t even know they were going to be dips), but in the very best way.
The weakest link was the dessert, but we applaud them doing something different and authentic, perhaps it just wasn’t quite to our tastes.
