We ate dinner here in December 2021.
Blue cheese and walnut flatbread
Steak espetada with carrot puree, brocollini, tomato and potatoes
Kumara, chickpea, lentil and lamb stew with corn rice and yoghurt
Waffle with cream, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup
Sorry Little Savannah, but you’ve fallen from your pedestal. We let you squeak by last time and retain your 4, but some insults will not stand. The stew was such an insult. The meat was dry and the stew was bland. Also, it was served in a cast iron pot, with a separate plate for the rice and yoghurt. This meant the stew was thermonuclear and stayed that way, while juggling between the pot and the plate was awkward. A standard bowl or plate would have been better. The flatbread was excellent as previous, as was the espetada. The waffle was good but not great, just missing that little something to make it special.
