Baked polenta
What a disappointment. It’s not often we get our hopes up, but sitting in Chimichurri we were excited. A different kind of cuisine, a menu with lots of scrummy looking options, not to mention a very handsome cabinet selection, we were jazzed. Both dishes were a huge let downs on flavour. The polenta was incredibly bland and homogenous. While the mushrooms on top were nice, there were very few of them. Even the parmesan was muted. And the pork sandwich wasn’t coming to the rescue. This thing sounded great on the menu, but did not deliver. The bread was dry, the pork was dry, there was slightly more flavour than the polenta had but that’s not saying much and was definitely under expectations. Even the aioli that came with the chips was bland.
