Havana Bar

Rating: 3

We ate dinner here in July 2026.

Croquettes with jamón, béchamel, and parmesan Sourdough with salted butter
Roast squash with orange mascarpone and pomegranate seeds
Beef brisket burger with fries
Fried chicken with cilantro sour cream

Havana Bar, Havana Bar, Havana Bar. I wish we could say we were surprised or disappointed to see you fall out of the fours and down to the threes. But the truth is that your record is spotty, you’ve yo-yo’d three to four on each of the 4 occasions we’ve dined with you.

Case in point, this dinner. We weren’t upset to eat it, in fact it was really nice, it just wasn’t great, and the cocktails that normally pull you up were bringing you down. It started really strong with an excellent sourdough, and then an even more excellent roast squash dish. But then came the too béchamel forward croquettes, which ended up just a bit too one-note. Likewise, the chicken lacked interest. It was a bit dry, and all you really got was a pile of paprika. The worst was the overly dry burger, somehow they’d managed to dry out their beef brisket.

Hopefully next time we visit Havana Bar, they will yo-yo back up to a 4. Time will tell.
