It was busy in the Vietnamese Restaurant and Cafe on this Saturday afternoon. But they were clearly used to it, because our food came fast, they cleared tables fast, we watched in awe as their well oiled machine just turned over and turned over.

We’d be happy to eat everything again, except for the dumplings, which were too dumpy, and not lingy enough. Honestly they were pretty much just a ball of pork that was encased, they weren’t awful, but the innards just didn’t have a nice texture. The roti was really good, fantastically hot and fresh, crispy, with great laminations, not greasy, chef’s kiss.The popcorn chicken had an artisanal flair, nice and small but irregular in size and had a tasty dipping sauce and welcome side of peanuts. Even the salad actually was helpful to cut through the greasiness. Lastly, the spring rolls were also great. They were absolutely burning hot, so do be careful, but they had a varied filling that was very welcome and their sweet chilli sauce was thick for dipping which we appreciated.
