Hideout

Rating: 3

We ate lunch here in April 2026.

Braised pork bao bun
Spring rolls
Coleslaw
Orange cauliflower and beef
Brownie

There was nobody dining at Hideout when we visited for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon, but there should have been. This place served hot, tasty food promptly and for a good price (nice one $17 lunch special). Plus they had a very appealing cocktail menu.

The orange beef/cauliflower was fantasticly crispy, the beef had good quality, the ratios of sauce to solids to rice was on point, and we appreciated that the cauliflower addition was something a bit different. The bao bun was enjoyable enough, but the bun itself was a bit chewy. We’re not quite sure what was in the spring rolls, but we liked it. Even the coleslaw, which we’re not fans of in general, was actually fairly enjoyable thanks to the addition of sesame in the dressing. The worst bit was the brownie, which had a conference-afternoon-tea energy, but we did appreciate the addition of a little sweet treat to the lunch package.
