We ate dinner here in March 2026.
Sweet & sour broccoli
Lamb rump with plum and broccolini
Mushroom burger with chips
Guys, let’s talk about mushroom burgers. They sound delicious, A big, steaky ole portobello is basically the meat of the vegetarian world. But you can’t just smack a mushroom inside a burger and call it a day. Most mushroom burgers are poorly conceived and involve chomping through a thick hunk of mushroom that feels like an endurance event by the half way point. Not Mary’s. Multiple smaller portobello mushrooms, delicately battered, and served with a Big Mac style burger, with the shredded lettuce, pickles and special sauce. Plus blue cheese! This was one tasty ass burger.
Speaking of tasty ass, the lamb rump was off the chain. That rump was sump (short for sumptuous, get on board). The texture was almost buttery it was so juicy and soft. And the accompaniments only accentuated the main event, which is exactly what they should be doing. Perfection.
You may know by now that we are partial to a fried cauliflower and order it regularly. Mary has stepped outside the norm by swapping the cauliflower for broccoli, with excellent results. The texture was spot on, and the sweet and sour sauce paired well. Congratulations Mary.
