Cauliflower fritters

Daisy’s serves upmarket fare in a cosy atmosphere and is probably upset that she didn’t get a 4. While this meal was good, it wasn’t quite great.

The carrots were a highlight, well cooked with some caramelisation and interesting flavours. The steak was a lovely piece of meat, but was unevenly cooked, ranging from medium to rare depending on your bite. The ragu was tasty, we particularly appreciated the generous topping of parmesan.

Call us traditionalists, but we expected the fritters to be flat, a la corn fritter. We were tickled to find these ones were balls. The flavour was odd and controversial. There was tumeric and something citrus-y, and overall the experience wasn’t unpleasant, but nor was it something you’d want to order again.
