Boulcott Street Bistro knows service. The maitre d’ was a true delight, he made you feel extremely welcome and like family, and while this restaurant is a bit snooty he certainly wasn’t. When our buoyant family party of 11 was leaving, he gave a warm handshake and just seemed thrilled to have met us. He even earned a tip, a very rare occurrence within our family. The bartender was also spot on, friendly and funny, and all the staff were just generally great.

The food was pretty good, but hadn’t quite reached greatness. The calamari was a bit pedestrian. Both the lamb rack and rice cake were good meals, but just didn’t knock our socks off. The standout was the baklava which was absolutely delicious especially the lemon creme fraiche on the side, we would be thrilled to have that again.
