Cheesy garlic bread

Amador is not here for dinner. Their niche is the downtown working crowd. They offer a full menu for breakfast and lunch until 2pm, but after this Amador is really a bar with only snacks available. However, just because they’re only serving snacks, doesn’t mean the food should be bad.

The truffle fries smelled like vomit due to an unfortunate combination of excessive amounts of truffle oil mixed with parmesan cheese. The chips themselves were okay, but the smell was confronting. The cheesy garlic bread was terrible. Their biggest problem was the bread. They’d chosen supermarket style hotdot buns which they’d split horizontally and chucked on some garlic butter and mozzerella then grilled them. They were insanely chewy, a genuine effort to bite through, you need to pull in one direction and move your head in the other direction like a dog with a piece of stewing steak, to get a mouthful. Even aside from the awful texture, the flavour was nothing special and they’d put a rim of balsamic glaze around the edge of the plate which was bringing nothing and ended up on your face and arm.

Luckily they did do good espresso martinis. They had 3 different kinds and all of them were delicious in thier own way. It wasn’t a particularly inventive cocktail menu, just the classics really, and the white lady was too ginny.
