Halloumi burger with chips
Anywhere that switches songs halfway through the solo in Hotel California had an uphill climb to impress Business Andy and The Fee-Rex. The Residences decidedly unremarkable meals did nothing to sway our opinion.
Perhaps we are being a bit harsh, after all The Residence is a bar first and foremost. Their priority is selling a lot of drinks, playing loud music (up to the good bit at least) and offering fried food that is quick and easy to cook, and that you can eat with your hands.
They managed above average in burger construction, and we approved of the shredded lettuce and the onion jam. On the whole, the burger was reasonable. Special shout out to the legend in the kitchen that put way more halloumi in there then we expected. We can’t dress up the nachos, they just sucked. All the elements were there, they just messed them all up. Broken chips, flavourless beef mince, awful salsa and guacamole, and nowhere near enough of either. And what’s more, the dish itself was too small for what we paid.
