We ate lunch here in October 2022.
Boysenberry cream horn
Pork riblet roll
Chips
Viv’s Kitchen is a Sanson institution, with its iconic giant cream horn on proud display on State Highway 1. Unsurprisingly, the place was packed. Unfortunately, the experience failed to live up to the hype. The chips were particularly disappointing, they were dry and floury. Dousing them in sauce to remedy this backfired, as the sauce was the cheapest watery tomato sauce available; our friend’s description of the sauce as being “straight from 1993” was apt.
The pork riblet roll was a little controversial, as The Fee-Rex thinks pork riblet is disgusting at the best of times. Business Andy, being the most basic of bitches thought it was pretty good though.
As to the signature dish, the cream horn, it was fresh and choccablock with real cream as it should be. But did it send us singing from the hilltops, no.
