Braised lamb neck crepe

Banana, peanut butter, and cacao smoothie

Despite a rocky start, our meal at Amayjen was fantastic. On arrival we were tersely instructed to present our vaccine passes “before we touched anything” like we were children with chocolate on our hands. They also took ages to take our order, then lied to us about the reason. The first server told us they were looking for their mask, and the second server told us that they were a member of staff down. Neither of these is particularly believable, as we had just watched them both have a long conversation together after taking someone else’s order.

Fortunately for everyone, the food was absolutely fantastic. The lamb crepe was meaty, hearty, and full of flavour. And the pork dumplings were excellent as well. The smoothie scored full marks for both texture and temperature, a rarity.
