At Cafe Jacko we experienced a BAATFR first - finding plastic in our food. This was an unfortunate blip in what was overwise a very nice meal. The fish was delicately battered, the chips well cooked, and the coleslaw tasty (apart from the plastic). The French toast was intense. This isn’t your everyday cafe French toast - the brioche was thick, soft and rasisiny, they had battered, fried and sugared the bananas, blueberries were a lovely compote, and who doesn’t want ice cream with their breakfast food? Delicious as this was, it was a lot and did become a bit nauseating after a while. The banana smoothie was a standout, and hit the big three of texture, flavour and temperature. Despite the plastic we would happily go back to Cafe Jacko again, and the lovely man at the counter (was it Jacko himself?) was extremely apologetic and comped the affected meal.
