Namaste Bharat was cold, both in temperature and in the disposition of the wait staff. The Fee-Rex ordered a sahi paneer, wondering if it would be different to the shahi paneer she had last week at Indian Summer. The menu described the sahi paneer as ‘paneer with sauces and special spices’ which didn’t offer much of a clue. Turns out sahi paneer is the same as a shahi paneer, in that they are both essentially kormas. It may be that sahi was a typo in the menu. The only noteworthy thing about this otherwise boring curry was that it came with a bizarre sprinkle of grated cheese on top.

The malai kofta sauce was very nice. Unfortunately, the koftas themselves were basically two giant balls of mashed potato, and so were pretty stodgy and uninteresting, not like koftas we’ve had elsewhere. The cheese and garlic naan was pretty good, it did contain some mozzarella but it wasn’t the only cheese, and the garlic on top was toasted (a welcome surprise) and well proportioned. The butter naan was a bit thin but was otherwise okay.
