Beef & cheese bao bun

Eugh. This meal sucked, and they messed up our order to boot. The bao bun was the most offensive. The bun itself was doughy and sweet, the “cheese” was in fact a cheese sauce that didn’t resemble cheese in any way, and the beef was as chewy and dry as an old boot. The pancake was like a kebab, with a thin and delicate egg pancake on the outside instead of a wrap, however the pancake tore and spilled its contents everywhere. It didn’t help that it was wrapped haphazardly in baking paper, just tearing a bit of the paper off caused the thin pancake to practically disintegrate. There’s a Turkish joint not three doors down where they have solved this issue, the answer is foil. The filling was alright, with some crispy bits of pork crackling thrown in to add an interesting texture, however it was intensely salty. We barely finished this meal, looking down at the last bite of the bao bun was like looking into the black abyss of your own mortality.
