Shamiana serves quintessential food court Indian food. All your favourites were there, including the combo for a curry, rice, naan and can of coke. Dishes were mild and very sweet. The naans were fresh, which is not a given at the food court. However, given the way Shamiana were stacking the naans high and not rotating them, our naan freshness was more luck than good food management. Tables were at a premium, or at least they were at lunchtime on a Saturday. This holds for any Plaza food court establishments, and is not specifically a concern at Shamiana. There was not quite enough of the mango sauce for the portion of rice provided. They only had one bowl left when we got there, so the butter chicken came in a takeaway container which was slightly larger and there was enough of that sauce. So giving out enough sauce to properly saturate your rice isn’t an issue, they just choose not to do it.
