Tasty Restaurant has a very authentic looking menu, but tonight we chose to go with a couple of honky classics which are generally a safe bet. We were wrong. The lemon chicken was ferociously sweet and yellow, and definitely void of any actual lemons. Rather than doing pieces of fried chicken, they’d gone for the vastly inferior giant slabs of chicken deep fried, then sliced, with sauce poured all over. The sweet and sour pork was a little better, at least they did little pieces of pork instead of half a pig sliced up. The pineapple was tasteless and the sauce has this unpleasant tang. Maybe we’d have been better off ordering the spicy duck blood with omasum instead of trying to play it safe.
